A rock formation from the Alabama Hills resembles a slumped man with a contrasted smoke hazed Mount Whitney in the background. The smoke from the forest forest fires in the summer of 2015 filled the eastern Sierra's. Why is the Rock Man Sad? Perhaps because of the fires. Lone Pine California, 2015.

Near the top of a steep hike to Sky Meadow, we nearly missed this little waterfall as it cascaded down the mossy rocks. The lack of water in the area didn't diminish the beauty of this spot.
